Have you ever thought about taking one of those cake decorating classes you see at the local craft stores? The are a ton of fun, and for most of us mom’s we can use two hours one night a week to get out and explore our creativity while creating flowers and designs on beautiful cakes that you just think can be made at the bakery.
The past month I have been taking classes and for me it has actually been quite relaxing! Some of us go for pedicures to relax, I go to cake decorating classes (then I’ll get a pedi on the way home!). And trust me, if I can do it, so can you. With the right technique and tools you can create virtually anything on a cake or cupcake that make it look like they were purchased at a cute little corner bakery.
If you don’t have time to get to one of these classes but are eager to start learning you can purchase the Wilton Class books at the craft store and self teach yourself. I am also documenting my journey through these classes onMother Thyme so you can follow along as I write about these techniques. We are also working on web videos that will soon be up that will show you these techniques as well.
If you need some tools to get started I am doing a giveaway onMother Thyme that ends today May 2nd at 11:59pmEST so stop by and enter for your chance to win a set that includes Wilton tips, cake leveler, spatula and bags. Click HERE to enter!
If you have a spring or summer event that you would love to make a beautiful cake or a cupcakes for you’ll love doing them yourself!
